We're Safe

For those in Utah (or who has seen the fire on the news or twitter or whatever) wondering or concerned, yes we have been evacuated.  We're safe and sound.

At last check the fire had not reached our street.  We're praying it stays that way.

Can you believe we got all the library books out of the house EXCEPT THE ONE I'M READING?!  Darn it all.

I'll update when I know something concrete.

ETA- As of about 3 this morning our house was no longer in the evac zone.  This morning people are being asked to stay out of the area unless they really HAVE to go in for something.  Air quality throughout the valley is awful, so people are being told to stay inside too.  Several schools have been closed, including Boo's.  (Like I would have sent her anywhere anyway.  Poor kid's asthma does NOT need that!)

  2. Whoa! That's the kind of excitement you really don't need. Good luck with things, and best of wishes both to you and to those who have turned out to be more directly affected by the fires.

  3. Yeah it was scary last night.

Worst part-- Boo realized what was going on when we evacuated and freaked out.

  5. Thanks! We've been cleared to go back for a while now, but haven't yet. Not looking forward to all the laundry and such we're going to have to do-- everyone back is saying the air inside is a lot worse than outside!

  6. Ooh, I didn't realize how close you were to it! Hope your house doesn't smell to much like smoke. And that it doesn't get burned down, of course.

  7. Haven't been home yet, but the neighbors I've talked to say air quality inside is AWFUL!!!! I have a feeling there is much laundry in my future.... and that big Febreeze refill bottle? Yeah, pretty sure we're going to be going through a lot of that!
