Wednesday Morsel-- Special GIVEAWAY Edition

"You should go to her."

I looked up the stairs to the second story, where my mother was sitting on a carved wooden couch. Her silk dress fluttered in the warm breeze, and she was staring out at the sea. "She'll be angry."

"She's never angry at you. You're her little moon."

While Alexander Helios had been named for the sun, I had been named for the moon. Although she always said her little moon could never do anything wrong, I hesitated.

"You can't let her sit there alone, Selene. She's afraid."

  1. I would love this book. I read Memoirs of Cleopatra a few years ago and loved it. It would be interesting to compare.

My favorite historical character? Sheesh, too hard. I've always loved the Tudor England era and Henry the 8th's first wife, Catherine of Aragon.

But I also love early American history specifically Lewis and Clark stuff... and Sacajewea, or however you spell it. (Too lazy to look it up right now!)

  2. Oh, I would have to admit I love Regency England. Seriously? Jane Austen really sealed the deal for me. Though, I have also read a lot of bios/historical stuff about Henry VIII and children/wives.

I've never really read anything from this era - should be interesting!

  3. I like Regency England as well. Though American Western stories are fun as well. My favorite historical figure?? Um...*crickets chirping*
I've only read a few historical fiction books that involve real people from history, so I am going to say Joseph Smith.
