Started slow, and I was kind of bored, but in the long run, it was a sweet story.
Interesting characters, most of them obnoxious, but that's okay since they're supposed to be. :)
Lots of quaint old manners, from Major Pettigrew, anyway.
This is one of those books that's compelling, even though not a whole lot happens.
In the end, I liked it more than I was expecting to, and even missed it after finishing. I recommend it.
(Even if the cover kind of creeps me out....) :D
