First of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cover.  Very cool.  Kinda subtle.  You might have to click and go over to Amazon to see it bigger to get the full effect.

Intriguing premise.  Sitting in a coffee shop, Val is startled when an old man she's never met enters and tells her not to do what she's about to do.  All she's planning to do is study, but that's probably not what he means.  :)

Soon the two become friends... and their friendship may be the only thing that can save mankind.

I will admit I spent half the book thinking "please don't go there, please please don't go there" and then, of course, they went there.  (No I won't tell you where.  Go read it.)  Honestly, though, it wasn't too bad.

The editing wasn't fabulous, but it wasn't dreadful.

All in all, I enjoyed the story.  It's really a novella, only 134 pages, and it does leave you hanging... and yet it doesn't.  There's a certain feeling of  "well how else could it have ended?"
