Wow, the cover of the paperback is weird.... and kinda creepy....

Anyhoo....

Let me preface this review by saying that I was not in the mood for this book and that likely colored my thoughts on it.  I'm a major mood reader and life has been a little too crazy for anything but Mrs. Pollifax.... (I only have one Mrs. Pollifax book left to read.)

The premise is certainly intriguing, though the book wasn't really at all what I expected.  And the characters weren't either.

When Pat Nolan goes to identify his daughter's body, (after her suicide in Paris) he tells the police it's her.... even though it's not.  It soon becomes obvious, though, that someone, somewhere also knows that Megan is really alive.  And she's in serious trouble.

Overall, I was confused my why the characters did the things they did, though I liked them all better at the end of the book than I did at the beginning.  :)

This is certainly an interesting take on the terrorism-based-thriller and the amateur-plus-rogue-cop plot, too.

In the end, though, I was just left confused.  The ending was all pretty sudden and the last chapter, I felt, would have been better left out entirely.  But, like I said, I was confused. ;)

Anyway, if you like thrillers, I would give this one a try because if nothing else it is certainly original.
