A Small Death in the Great Glen by A D Scott

Received for review from publisher

I had a hard time unraveling this one.  It seemed like the murder mystery took a back seat to character development for a lot of the book and it seemed to ramble on forever.

Also, lots of Scottish(?) words that I didn't understand and no glossary.

The setting (both time and place) was very strong.

It is an interesting mystery and I did like the characters, but I think more editing was needed.

This is a first novel, though, so maybe the sequel is a little more to-the-point.  I haven't decided if I'm interested enough to read it, though.
