This is one of those DK picture books that are just really densely packed with information.

Beginning with the Stone Age, each 2-page spread shows the same "street" at a different point in history.

It also includes a timeline that talks more about the different periods.

And it has a glossary.  Hallelujah.  :)

Overall, highly recommended.
