A Call for a New Alphabet by Jef Czekaj

Another one like E-mergency where I wanted to love it but didn't quite.

For one, it's LONG and it's not really good for reading aloud.  The concept is great for older kids like Boo, but really confusing for Mister and MeiMei.

X is tired of being at the end of the alphabet and wants to shake things up.  Why can't he be in more words?  It's just not fair.

Anyway, a fun concept, but really only good for older more independent readers.

A B C D Eat by Ed Heck

I kid you not, this is my new favorite alphabet book.  Mei Mei (formerly known as Baby J... she needed a new nickname) LOVES it and I am right there with her.

Actually, Mister and Boo both love it too.  (Points for rhyming.)

The illustrations are hilarious as these goats eat their way through the alphabet.

If you've got a little bookworm to shop for this Christmas, this is a great choice. :)  We have it from the library, but I really think we need to own it.  It's that good.

Check it out-- it totally cracks me up.
