Cut, Crop and Die by Joanna Campbell Slan

3.5 stars
R- 0
Sequel to Paper, Scissors, Death

Okay, so aside from the kind of cheesy title... :D

Not a bad mystery.  I didn't find it to be quite as well developed as the first, but it was a fun read.

Kiki really has to step it up in this one-- her job may be in jeopardy, her preteen may or may not hate her, her boss simply isn't being her usual "pillar of strength" self,  and on the romance front, well, let's just say things are.... interesting.

(Actually there's a HUGE twist in the romantic subplot that I'm not sure I'm at all happy about, but it'll at least partly depend on how things shake out in later books....)

Oh yeah, and there's been a murder.  Of course.

(Did anyone else ever watch the show Murder, She Wrote?  My parents and I used to joke about how dangerous it was to be around that lady.... someone was bound to die!)

The victim was a pain in the butt, but that doesn't mean people don't need answers.... and Kiki's bound and determined to find some.

Good fluff.  :D

  1. I really like cozy mysteries but I've found that I don't have much time for them anymore. There are so many books out there to read. Aaarrgh! It's a wonderful but frustrating problem.

So true. So many books and so little time....
I read somewhat freakishly fast, though. That's my secret.
Well, that and ignoring my kids. ;)
