The Dry Grass of August by Anna Jean Mayhew

3 stars
R- 1

LOVED the first 180 or so pages.  LOVED them.

The last 100 or so, unfortunately, felt completely awkward, out of place, disconnected.  Random issues brought up and resolved while leaving earlier ones unresolved.

So all in all... I wanted to love it.

If you're interested in Civil Rights and the 1950s, though, you might give it a try.  It could totally have just been me.
